Lawrence has been a licensed physical therapist for over 20 years and is a leading expert in the care of people with spinal cord injury.
Lawrence is the creator of Spinal Mobility a program that provides a post-rehabilitation exercise opportunity for people with SCI to access proper equipment, work with licensed therapists, and obtain practical education.
Spinal Mobility focuses on helping people with SCI improve their quality of life by educating them on the proper technique for exercise to be integrated into their daily routines.
In addition, Lawrence was involved in the development of the Urban Outings Program, a privately funded program that coordinates trips to community attractions and various activities throughout NYC and helps people with SCI in wheelchairs gain street-wise experience and confidence to navigate through the city with public and private transportation.
Lawrence serves as an Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapy at Long Island University, Columbia University, Touro College and Hunter College.
